  • The Applied Physics Lab has an initiative in Cognitive Engineering (which is why they hired me.) Recently I've been studying human interaction with semi-autonomous vehicles, continuing my work in computer-supported collaborative work, and learning new skills related to physiological indicators of mental processes.
  • Shape Factory is a research simulation for studying distributed teams that I developed as part of my work at the University of Michigan's School of Information
  • Simulation & Gaming is a longtime interest of mine. I worked with Mike Gordon's IT Champions program at the University of Michigan, and attend ABSEL and the Serious Games summits when I can.
  • The Science of Collaboratories . This project was a five-year review of recent developments in technology-supported long-distance scientific collaborations. See the online database of collaboratories, and look for a related book Science on the Internet MIT Press, Fall 2007.
